I came across this quote when researching about Annie Dillard. I think its an interesting way of thinking that we should live by necessity rather than choice. If we were to live by necessity, a lot of environmental problems would be solved along with other kinds of problems as well. Annie introduced the idea that it is our own greed for the things we want that gets us into the issues we face today. It definitely changed the way I think about the choices we as humans have in life.
